An exceptional cultivar of heliopsis that produces bright golden yellow, daisy-like flowers with a mahogany eye atop dark purple-red stems. The mature flowers are all-yellow, contrasting nicely against the green foliage with a purple-red tinge. This selection flowers for up to 8 weeks beginning in midsummer, especially if deadheaded.

'Summer Nights' has a tall, upright, clumping habit. The long flower stems are excellent for cutting.

Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips:
Heliopsis can be grown in either full sun or part shade, but it performs much better in full sun. Soil of average fertility is preferable. When grown in moist, rich soil, it tends to need staking. Growth will be strongest in soil with average fertility and moisture and a slightly acidic pH. Deadheading spent flower heads will extend the flowering time and prevent self-seeding. Divide every 2-3 years in spring or fall to maintain vigor.
